Shift-click your stash like a Chad.
Shift + click any item and ChadScanner slams a big card next to it: how many you still need for quests and hideout, and what it's worth. No wiki. No alt-tab. No spreadsheet. Just answers.
- Screenshot + OCR only
- Zero memory reading
- Open source
NaClZero ban risk. It only looks at your screen.
ChadScanner takes a screenshot around your cursor and reads it with image recognition and OCR — the same pixels your eyes already see. It never reads or writes game memory, never injects anything, never touches game files. OCR is not against Battlestate Games' rules. Don't trust us — read the code. Every line is open for anyone to inspect.
The virgin alt-tabber vs. the Chad scanner
The Chad scanner
- Shift + click. The card answers.
- Knows he needs 27 NaCl before he knows what NaCl is
- Hands in with Arrow Up, undoes with Arrow Down
- Progress syncs to TarkovTracker by itself
- Never looks away from his stash
The virgin alt-tabber
- Alt-tabs to the wiki mid-raid, dies in the inventory screen
- Sells the gas analyzer he needed for Medstation
- Keeps a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is wrong.
- Asks Discord "is this worth anything?"
- Forgets which quests still want FIR
One look. Full intel.
The border colour tells you what to do before you read a word.

Built different
Closest goal first
Rows sort by how far away they are: now, then fewest quests, upgrades or levels to go.
Kappa or Lightkeeper
Set a goal and everything outside it drops to the bottom as NOT KAPPA.
Knows found-in-raid
FIR objectives fill first. Non-FIR needs can be shown or hidden.
Arrow Up. Done.
With EFT focused, Arrow Up hands one in to the next open objective; Arrow Down undoes it. The keys still reach the game.
Synced or local
Keep progress on this PC or on TarkovTracker.org. A built-in TarkovTracker window jumps to the item you just scanned.
Tracks itself
Reads EFT's own log files to follow quest events and switch PvP/PvE automatically.
Scan your way
Shift + Left, Alt + Left, Middle, Mouse 4 or Mouse 5.
Stays current
Checks GitHub on start and every 6 hours; one click swaps the files and restarts.
Four steps to Chad status
-
Download & extract
Get the zip from Releases and extract it to a folder you own, like
C:\ChadScanner. Not Program Files — updates rewrite that folder. -
Run it
Start
chadscanner.exe. SmartScreen whines about an unsigned app: More info → Run anyway. First start downloads the item data (~180 MB). -
Go borderless
In EFT: Settings → Graphics → Screen mode → Borderless. Exclusive fullscreen can't show the card.
-
Shift + click
ChadScanner lives in the tray. Right-click it for Settings, Pause scanning and Check for updates. Now go loot.
Questions from the virgins
Will I get banned?
No. ChadScanner only takes screenshots and runs OCR on them. No memory reading, no injection, no game-file changes, and OCR is not against Battlestate Games' rules. The full source of ChadScanner and ChadVision is on GitHub for anyone to inspect.
Is it free?
Yes. Free, open source, no account, no ads.
The card doesn't show up in game.
Set EFT to Borderless. The card is a normal topmost window and can't draw over exclusive fullscreen.
It scanned the wrong item.
Press Ctrl + Shift + F12 right after the bad scan. It saves a debug report with the screenshot and the
candidates to %APPDATA%\ChadScanner\reports\ — attach it to a GitHub issue.
Do I need TarkovTracker?
No. Progress can live in a local file on your PC. Connect TarkovTracker.org with an API token if you want it synced, or import a TarkovTracker backup.
Where does the data come from?
Items, quests, hideout, traders, barters and crafts from tarkov.dev, refreshed every 10 minutes. Quest events and game mode from EFT's own logs.
SmartScreen / antivirus warning?
The exe isn't code-signed. Click More info → Run anyway. The source is public if you want to check it yourself.
